Neapolis-X Experience

This project aims to promote the Neapolis Nabeul archaeological site, as well as the knowledge, know-how, and practices linked to the production of garum, a condiment made from fish fermented in salt under the sun.

The site dates back to the 5th century BC, peaking in the 1st century AD during the Roman Empire, following the construction of salting facilities. These facilities encouraged the growth of the salting industry, as well as the production and trade of garum.

Educational Objectives

This immersive experience will allow visitors to learn about the production of garum and the economic importance of this ancient know-how. Through digital restitution, they can explore the salting factory and engage in gamified learning activities.
