African Adventure:

Such is the great challenge that UNESCO has undertaken to help young Africans better understand their history, and the contributions of African peoples to the overall progress of humanity, and to achieve better self-esteem.

To achieve this, UNESCO has decided to highlight in a playful and interactive way the contents of the volumes of the General History of Africa, on which it has worked for nearly 60 years to produce a comprehensive history of Africa from the perspective of Africans themselves, free from racist and colonial stereotypes.

UNESCO and its partner Netinfo have thus decided to develop a pilot for the first video game based on the prestigious collection of the General History of Africa volumes.

Gameplay:

This game is structured around prominent female and male figures who have significantly shaped the history of the continent and its diasporas. Thus, while having fun, young people will be able to learn about the history of:

  • Sundiata Keita : the King of Kings, founder of the Mali Empire.
  • Nzinga : The princess who resisted the enslavement of the peoples of the Kingdom of Kongo.
  • Zaynab Al Nafzawiyah : The visionary builder of the splendid city of Marrakech.
  • Shaka Zulu : The father of the Zulu nation and military strategist.
  • Makeda : Great queen of Ethiopia with a passion for knowledge.
  • Zumbi : Warrior chief and hero of the anti-slavery struggle in Brazil.

Come discover a unique and immersive experience that allows you to evolve alongside historical figures who have shaped the trajectory of the African continent. Their intellectual, cultural, political, and ethical legacy continues to inspire the project of an African Renaissance to this day.
